Colbert Packaging Receives Second U.S. Patent for MedLock EZ
LAKE FOREST, Ill. (March 16, 2018) – We are pleased to announce that the U.S. Department of Commerce has awarded Colbert Packaging a second patent (US 9,844,489 B2) for our MedLock EZ family of patient adherence packages. This is our 11th patent.
MedLock EZ is a secure and sustainable unit dose alternative to amber pharmacy vials. The patented design consists of a fully brandable and recyclable outer paperboard shell featuring an integrated locking mechanism that safely “locks” a blister card inside. Subjected to Consumer Product Safety Commission testing protocols, MedLock EZ has achieved an F=1 rating, which is a testament to the effectiveness of its child-resistant, senior-friendly design attributes.
MedLock EZ is available in multiple sizes to accommodate a wide variety of treatment regimens, clinical trials and medications – including pills and medicinal syringes.
