Prepress Supervisor. Elkhart.
My main role with the company is to oversee the Prepress department and ensure the equipment is in good working order, as well as supplying plates and proofs to the printing department. Also, I accept customers’ digital files and make them print ready to flow through the other aspects of prepress.
Day-to-day, I supply files for plating to meet the daily press schedule and tackle the ongoing file change requests from our customers. The things I enjoy most about my role at Colbert are the daily challenges and the great friends and colleagues that I work with.
In my 50+ years in the printing industry I’ve worked at several companies in the area but none as pleasurable as my 18 years at Colbert. It doesn’t seem possible that much time has passed.
Colbert as a brand means high-quality products. I always point out to family and friends while shopping what we have produced on the store shelves because I have had a hand in most everything that goes through our plant. Taking pride in all that we do here to make the best product possible for our customers.
The main thing that makes Colbert Packaging a good place to work is that it is a family-owned business that cares about its employees as people, and not just a number. The company produces excellent products to be proud of and has great friendly people to work with. I can really say it’s a pleasure to come to work every day.
