Ink Technician, Kenosha
I oversee managing the inventory, quality, and colors of ink. I mix inks and create formulas to match customer color standards. Our color targets are based in Pantone Live. A typical day for me involves taking care of the production schedule, checking color requirements for our CSRs against Pantone Live targets. One of my biggest challenges is matching purple colors, especially light purple. It’s not easy to print a true color over substrates that vary in white brightness. Purple is just one of those difficult colors.
I like doing what I do, and I love working on challenging projects from customers and prove that we can bring to life that project that is on their minds. I view an impossible task as just an opportunity to develop my interest in colors/inks and let my stubbornness do its best!
When I think about the Colbert brand and my role in it, I feel I am part of the product life cycle in that I use some of the products for which we make cartons. I like bringing home a carton I purchased in the store and comparing it to our control samples.
I worked at another company for 24 years before joining Colbert. At the other company, I felt like a number. Here, everyone knows my name. Colbert PRIDE means doing my best, and doing it with pride.
