No, you don’t have to choose between sustainability and security – or sustainability and style. Yes, with our solutions, you can have it all.
On the one hand, you know you need “greener” packaging. Corporate goals mandate it. Retailers demand it. Customers support it. The environment begs it. On the other hand, you don’t want to negatively impact your product’s shelf presentation or make it easy to pilfer from the retail aisle. With EnviroGuard and BlisterGuard, you never have to choose sustainability over security or style.
EnviroGuard is a highly versatile, designer-friendly package that delivers the strength, security, stackability and style you desire in a solution your sustainability strategy demands. It can be manufactured using dozens of customized configurations and materials, including solid bleached sulfate (SBS) paperboard, corrugate and even small amounts of plastic. EnviroGuard can also be made with tear-resistant board for maximum pilfer resistance, giving you the perfect balance between security and sustainability.
BlisterGuard is another sustainable packaging solution – and a great alternative to RF-sealed plastic clamshells. It has been proven to reduce the use of petroleum-based plastics by up to 70 percent versus traditional plastic clamshells. It may also interest you to know that our patented, award-winning and fully brandable BlisterGuard and EnviroGuard packages are up to 35 percent cheaper to cost neutral than clamshells … so there’s really no reason not to make the switch to environmentally friendly packaging.
Of course, our sustainability solutions don’t stop there. Most of our packaging products are paperboard-based, so they are often sustainable by default. We’ve also taken sustainability to the next level with chain of custody certifications, which involve ongoing training and rigorous annual facility audits. In the world of sustainable packaging, chain of custody is the process of tracking the wood fiber used in certified paperboard back to a forest that demonstrates well-managed harvesting and replanting efforts.
We typically use virgin SBS paperboard derived from responsibly managed forests to manufacture paperboard-based packaging solutions like custom folding cartons, but we also offer other paperboard options, including recycled board.
Then there’s the other materials that are used in the making of our packaging products; some of those are made from sustainable materials, too. For example, most of our presses can print using water-based and soy-based inks.
